How to Clean Upholstered Furniture

From dirt and dust, pet stains and odors, spilled food and drinks, Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner can spot clean spills or even work in a carpet cleaning machine to deep clean or remove stains on your fabric sofa. Plus, it's non-toxic and biodegradable, safer for your home & family.

If you're unsure about how Simple Green will affect a surface, be sure to spot test before cleaning.

  1. Remove the mess and blot up any liquid from the sofa before you begin cleaning.
  2. Dampen the stain with clean water.
  3. Spray a solution of 1 oz. Simple Green and 1 cup water onto the stain.
  4. Let it sit for a few minutes to soak.
  5. Gently rub and blot with a damp clean cloth or towel.
  6. Allow the area to dry completely.

  1. Mix 4 oz. Simple Green per ½ gallon of water into your carpet cleaning machine.
  2. Apply solution onto the sofa using the upholstery attachment.
  3. Agitate by gently brushing or scrubbing the area (a soft nylon brush works best).
  4. Extract with the carpet cleaner and clean water. If necessary, add a small amount of white vinegar to reduce foaming in the recovery tank.
  5. Allow the area to dry completely.

You may need to repeat this process depending on the mess. Do not allow your Simple Green solution to dry onto upholstered surfaces.
