Our Social Responsibility

Through our LIVE GREEN | LIVE CLEAN program we donate over 1M gallons of Simple Green® products each year. To date, through this disaster and humanitarian relief program, we have partnered with over 20 organizations to donate product to those in need around the world.

The EGBAR Foundation [everything's gonna be alright] is a vehicle for change. Its primary function is to create an appreciably cleaner environment by instilling in young people throughout the world, the importance of "Making a Difference", one park, one neighborhood, one community at a time. We fulfill this commitment through our environmental education program and scholarships. Over the past 18 years we have touched over 1.5M children. Our goal is to reach over 3M in the next five years.

Currently, our community partnerships include The Catalina Island Conservancy and the The SEA Lab. The Catalina Conservancy protects and restores the environment on Catalina promoting and modeling ecologically sustainable communities to create a healthier future for the island and our Earth. The Sea Lab is a hands-on coastal center in Redondo Beach, California that offers free and low cost programs for explorers of all ages.

The Simple Green family believes in community and practicing everyday green living. We participate in numerous neighborhood clean-ups each year. This year we challenged our staff even further through a personal eco-challenge. Collectively, the Simple Green family is poised to significantly reduce energy usage, water consumption, volunteer hours to the community, donate items to charity and reduce all carbon-producing actions.

The Simple Green “Green Thumbprint” is our interpretation of the carbon footprint, the mark that our company and our employees leave via their carbon-producing activities. We strive to make our thumbprint as small as possible, and just like a person's thumbprint, it represents accountability and our commitment to conservation. The lines within our thumbprint are represented by the ideals of reducing, recycling, reusing, sustainable practices & products, community betterment, energy conservation, charitable contribution, and good corporate citizenship.

I’m sure we are all in agreement that Earth Day is now every day. Officially however, it is held in April. The date is approaching and the Simple Green Team is gearing up for our Adopt-A-Clean-Up. This year we decided to do something a bit different, we nominated four organizations that are doing their part for the environment, and in the sprit of community, we opened voting to the public from February 15-March 7, 2008. Thanks to over 2700 participates that cast their vote, we now have a winner.

And the envelope please… We are thrilled to announce the Pacific Marine Mammal Center as the winning organization that will receive a $5000 grant and become Simple Green’s Adopt-A-Clean-Up for Earth Day 08.

What’s next? Take a look at how the Pacific Marine Mammal Center will be utilizing their Adopt-A-Clean-Up grant.
