Years ago I loaned a fold-up tote bag to a young friend who was going to Greece. When she returned, there were terrible black splotches all over the tote that looked like grease. I threw the bag in the wash but a regular laundry wash didn’t touch the stains.



Fast forward a few years when I next saw the tote and I was ready to trash it. On a whim I sprayed it with full strength Simple Green, let it sit a while in the sink, then washed it by hand. All the aged greased spots were gone! And the bright blue tote is now clean and ready for my next trip.
